dimensions of air shipments to the dimensional restrictions of
aircraft (see Section XIII).
6 - POE (Port of Embarkation)(3 characters). The POE should indicate the

point of departure from the United States or foreign country (see
Section IV for water ports and Section XIV for air terminal
identifier codes).
7 - POD (Port of Debarkation)(3 characters). The POD should indicate the

point of entry into the United States or foreign country (see
Sections IV and XIV).
8 - Mode (Mode of Shipment)(1 character). This code should identify the

means of transportation used to ship the commodity (truck, air

Cont No. (Transportation Control Number)(TCN) (17 characters).

number controls a shipment from start point to destination.
There
are several types of TCNs, depending on the nature of the cargo
to be
shipped (see Appendix B of this subcourse).
11 - Consignee (6 characters).
Block
This code should identify the receiving
activity for the shipment; DOD assigns this number.
12 - Pri (Transportation Priority)(1 character).
Block
This code should
establish the degree of urgency for moving a given shipment by land,
air, or sea (see Appendix C of this subcourse).
13 - RDD (Required Delivery Date)(3 characters).
Block
This entry should
indicate the date (Julian date) the requisitioning activity requires
the cargo to be delivered. Refer to the Julian calendar conversion
chart found in Appendix A, page A-116.
14 - Proj (Project)(3 characters). This code should identify the military
Block
project for which the material has been requisitioned.
Personnel
should get this code from DD Form 1348-1 (DOD Single Line Item
Release/Receipt Document), which is prepared by the requisitioner.
