system is not available. The data is presented in the same sequential order as
that for the punch card TCMD.
MANUAL OR HARD COPY TCMD
The consignor (shipping activity) uses the hard copy or manual TCMD format when
it does not have punch card or ETM capability.
PART B - SUPERVISE THE PREPARATION OF
TCMD ENTRIES
As a supervisor, you must ensure that your personnel prepare and maintain TCMDs
according to DOD Regulation 4500.32-R, Volume I. To ensure that your personnel
properly complete DD Form 1384, you must know where to locate the required
information to transport cargo shipments.
As you know, the same coded
information appears on the manual TCMD, the ETM, and the punch card; only their
format makes them appear different.
MANUAL OR HARD COPY TCMD
As you know, the information on the manual TCMD is divided into two groups. The
top portion (Blocks 1 through 31) is the prime shipment unit data. The bottom
portion (Columns 32 through 44) is the trailer line data (see Figure 1-3). As a
supervisor, you must know what information is required and where to locate it on
the form.
