BODY DATA
The lower part of DD Form 1386 is divided into two sections. The first section
is the Description and Location of Heavy Lifts and Other Special Data; the other
section is Total Cargo Loaded.
You must remember that pieces of cargo that
exceed 5 short tons (10,000 lb) fall into the heavy lift category; also, pieces
of cargo that have outsized dimensions that exceed 6 feet fall into this special
data category.
In both these cases, SEAVANs and MILVANs are excluded from
consideration; for outsized dimensions, CONEXes and POVs are excluded.
Line a of the body is applicable when using DD Form 1386 for the recapitulation.
When Line a is used, the body of the form is divided into two parts (see Figure
4-3).
