PART A - REVIEW THE OCEAN CARGO MANIFEST RECAPITULATION
DD Form 1386 summarizes all cargo tonnage loaded on a ship.
It is a multi-
use DD Form 1385 (Cargo Manifest) as a source document when reviewing DD Form
1386.
After the POE has loaded the vessel, all lift and stow data are sent to the WCA.
The WCA completes the preparation of the manifest and prepares a recapitulation.
The recapitulation reports the total cargo loaded at the POE and identifies heavy
lifts loaded aboard the ship.
Since DD Form 1386 is a dual purpose form, you must check to ensure that an X is
in the box to the left of the word Recapitulation in the upper left corner of the
form (see Figure 4-1).
In the upper right corner, ensure that the proper box,
Original or Revised has an X. To check a revision to previously submitted data,
ensure that each previously submitted item requiring deletion or correction is
listed under the heading DELETE exactly as it appeared on the original.
Below
the list of deleted items, the list of correct entries should be entered under
the heading ADD.
Figure 4-1.
You must ensure that your personnel have used a new DD Form 1386 to change any
data already submitted.
When checking revisions made in the header, you must
ensure that your personnel have--
placed an X in the Recapitulation box.
placed an X in the Revised box.
