Items to Be Checked Prior to Release of Loaded Vehicle
Check Items 23 through 30 after an approved vehicle has been
completed.
Ensure both drivers and inspectors have signed the form in the
appropriate boxes.
Review DD Form 836
You must get DD Form 836 (see Figure 4-8) from the shipper.
The
shipper
uses
this
form
to
provide
instructions
to
drivers
transporting dangerous materials. The driver uses these instructions
to protect himself, the cargo, the vehicle, and other life or
property from such
hazards as
fire, collision, and vehicle
breakdowns.
DD Form 836 also tells drivers what to do and whom to
notify in such emergencies.
You or the shipper may add specific
information to this form.
Make sure you get a copy of DD Form 836
from the shipper and ask questions if you don't understand any of the
entries.
