SPWS (SECTION 1)(SHIPMENT B)
Now you must review SHPT B on the SPWS. This data is taken from DD Form 1348-1A
(see Figure 2-15). Beginning with Line 1 of Section I, SHPT B should be entered

Now go to Line 2 (see Figure 2-17). Nomenclature is from Block X of DA 1348-1A.
The Commercial Name should be entered here--ammunition, cartridges, and small
arms loaded in boxes. The MILSTAMP Name is found in Block U. The Item Number is
5980. The mode should again be V because the shipment will be sent by surface.
According to the NMFC, the TL Min. Wt. should be 36,000 LBS, the $ Rate for SHPT
B should be 795.60, and the Reference Pub. should be the NMFC. (We have already
looked up this information in the NMFC.)
Now proceed to Line 3.
According to DOD Reg 4500.32-R, Volume II, the True
Shipping Name is listed as the 214th AVN CO; the AMMO DODIC as C237; Net
Explosive Weight as 1068; Ammunition Rounds and Lot No. as 2000 and MA264; and
the Dot Class as "C." Ensure that these entries are all written in the
appropriate columns. The next two columns should be blank. The Remarks column
should contain the Federal Stock Number (FSN). This completes Section I of the
SPWS for shipment B.
