Movement control at the strategic level focuses on sustaining the forward

deployed force, strategic mobility, and force projection. It is executed through the
creation and participation of the MCC established throughout the defense
transportation system (DTS). There are two types of strategic movement control
operations:
Strategic movement control in support of military operations.

Strategic movement control in peacetime is executed in support of the combatant
Strategic
commands and the Services by the DTS. The DTS places their movement

requirements with the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM)

Strategic movement control in support of military operations hinges on the
