Transportation planners determine their support requirements by forecasting the
quantities and types of supplies and personnel moving in the support theater
operations. Planners obtain these requirements from potential users of the
transportation system. These are the movement classes planners use for
determining transportation requirements:
Classes of supply.
Estimated weight and cube.
Planned origins and destinations.
Special handling considerations such as water, refrigerated, hazardous,
sensitive cargo, and so on.
Prisoners of war.
When determining transportation capabilities, you must evaluate these two
